Matchup Mess in Mo-town

The Lakers stumbled again in Mo-Town, losing their eighth straight game at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Pistons were firing on all cylinders and led almost wire to wire in a game where newly-acquired Chris Webber showed more of his brilliant passing skills to the Pistons faithful in the stands.

The Lakers certainly were not firing on all cylinders.  In fact, Kobe didn’t pull the trigger until the first quarter was almost over.  Los Angeles coach Phil Jackson said it best: “We have not played a good game on this floor in years.”

But why is that?  Jackson thinks it’s matchup problems, but perhaps it’s something else, considering the streak extends back to when the Lakers still had Shaq, the human matchup problem.

Check out StubHub.com for the Lakers tickets to the game when they return from their road trip, but keep pondering why the Lake Show just doesn’t show up to play up in Detroit.
