Lamar Odom and Luke Walton returned to practice yesterday. Both Los Angeles Lakers players are hoping to get playing time in Thursday’s game versus the Denver Nuggets.
Lamar Odon injured his shoulder weeks ago and has been slowly getting back to full strength. Some critics have wondered if Odom will be aggressive in both attacking and defending the basket when he gets back into the starting lineup. In his previous return from injury, Odom chose to play more around the perimeter, and seemed tentative on offense.
Walton’s injured ankle was bothersome at the tail end of a few practice scrimmages yesterday, but he still plans on playing versus the Nuggets. He was realistic about the team’s outlook when he and Odom come back.
Said Walton, “It’s not that simple. We’re not playing like a team right now. Just throwing guys back in there is not going to make it happen. It’ll help, because I think Lamar and I are both very unselfish players, but we’ve got to do it as a team.”
To see the Odom and Walton in their returning games, LA area fans will have to wait to get Lakers tickets to the Portland game on Friday. Check out StubHub.com for a chance to see the Lakers faces you remember from a few months ago, if not the same team.
