Kupchak: New Spokesman for Aspirin

We all know Kobe called out Lakers’ general manager Mitch Kupchak last month, pretty much demanding roster realignments. But what has Kupchak done to respond? Up to this point, his responses have been muted. “I think enough has been said,” was his most poignant response to Kobe’s comments. Sure, enough has been said by Kobe. But apparently Kupchak is aggressively working towards a solution behind the scenes.

Kupchak’s solution would almost definitely not involve trading the NBA’s leading scorer for the past two seasons. Kupchak needs to come up with a better solution to this one-sided equation, or Kobe’s going to erupt again. At least we can be confident that Kupchak is still rooting for his own team, and is looking to make the Lakers immediate contenders. Just about every other NBA executive has their eyes on the Lakers’ current emergency status. Because of this, Kupchak’s been getting inquiries about his players without even having to ask, which means he may be served a Kobe-solution on a silver platter. “I know, based on my conversations in the last three or four weeks, that we have a lot of desirable players that other teams would like to have,” Kupchak commented. Well get on it Kupchak. Get your Los Angeles Lakers tickets from StubHub.com and see what Kupchak comes up with.
