Lakers, Walton Agree to Deal

The Los Angeles Lakers have just resigned forward Luke Walton to a six year, $30 million deal, keeping the fan favorite in a city that adores him. Luke Walton averaged over 11 points per game in 2007, though he struggled with injuries, just like many other players on the Lakers’ roster. According to reports, Mitch Kupchak called Lon Babby, Walton’s agent, immediately after the trade deadline to secure Walton’s long term future in Los Angeles.

Said Babby, “He’s going to be in L.A. for a long time. We worked hard to see if there was a deal to be done with the Lakers first. We got other calls, but we decided to pursue the opportunity here. He wanted to stay in L.A.” Walton’s new salary is a big raise from what he had been earning the past few seasons. Last year he made roughly $1.4 million.

So it looks like Los Angeles Lakers tickets will get you into the Staples Center to see “Luuuuuuuke” for a long time now. You can get those tickets at StubHub.com, your source for tickets to see players getting raises.
