The latest in the trade talk world is that free agent Lakers center Chris Mihm is being pursued by the Chicago Bulls. Chris Mihm sat out all of the 2006 season recovering from an ankle injury that required surgery. In 2005 he was good for about 10 points per game and his share of the rebounding duties. It’s fair to say that he was missed last year, but the Lakers don’t look like they can keep him.
They did pick up Pau Gasol’s brother, a promising potential low post scorer, in the NBA draft recently, though it is not known that he will be available right away. Plus, Bynum might stay with the team, and the Lakers are trying to get a big man to keep Kobe happy anyways.
In other news, the Lakers might be trying to get veteran guard and former Laker Derek Fisher. He was recently released from his contract with the Utah Jazz to deal with family issues. He might just retire, but if he doesn’t, he is a free agent for whom the Lakers might want to offer a spot. With all the trade talk, it’s hard to know if you should get Los Angeles Lakers tickets for next season. But you can always shop around at StubHub.com in the meantime.
