The Wizards couldn’t pull any tricks out of their hats this time around as they fell to second place in a game against the Washington Wizards in the Sunday night game. The Lakers walked away with a final score of 126-120 in overtime. The victory was much needed for the Lakers as they are now within one game of the Western Conference lead and finally snaps a two game losing streak by the Los Angeles based team. Former Laker player Caron Butler sent the game into overtime with a game-tying three pointer that was late in the fourth.
A statement released by Lakers coach Phil Jackson says, “We feel like we are going to have to win 57 or something like that if we want to finish at the top of this heap.” The Lakers will have to stay on top of their game, because they will have to gear up for more action when they host the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday.
