The Portland Trailblazers have virtually run over the Los Angeles Lakers with their most recent win last night. The final score was 112-103 at the Rose Garden and the Trailblazers were relieved to have cut short their five-game losing streak. It also happened to be the Blazers’ fifth consecutive home win over the Lakers, which shows their determination on the court. Previously Portland was hurting from losses against both Seattle and Boston. Blazers coach Nate McMillan was quoted in The Colombian as saying, “I think everybody gets fired up to play the Lakers. The players as well as the coaches and the fans. It’s the Lakers. You get fired up for that game.”
Portland Trailblazers Channing Frye, James Jones and Brandon Roy helped to solidify the win against Los Angeles and the team members remain as some of Portland’s most prominent shining stars on the court. Frye, recorded season highs with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Jones broke out of his recent shooting slump, hitting 5 of 9 shots for 14 points. Unfortunately for the Lakers Kobe Bryant was unable to help bring his team to a much needed win. But they will look ahead to improve their defensive and offensive skills.
